Tell the Senate: No Age Verification!

Following the release of the age assurance technology trial and in the leadup to regulations coming into force, the Senate has referred the implementation of regulations relating to age verification and online search engines to a committee for inquiry and report.

In addition to the many free speech and principled reasons for opposing these regulations, it is clear that the eSafety Commissioner is seeking to manufacture support for age verification ignoring serious ethical and technology considerations.

This isn't about protecting children - this will likely make online safety worse for them too. Rather, the real goal is stopping people from speaking freely online, by stripping them of their anonymity.

We’ve developed another helpful tool for you to compose a submission and make your voice heard in this important fight! Please tell the Senate you are not happy, whilst you still can! Submissions close on the 22nd of September 2025, so you don't have long.
