Oppose Digital ID in the Childrens 'Online Privacy' Code

As the age verification regime imposed by the under-16s social media ban shows signs of faltering and failing, the Albanese government is seeking to impose a second age verification regime via the back door.

The “Children’s Online Privacy Code” claims to be concerned with minimising and obtaining the consent for the collection and use of data from social media or other online services accessed by or for children under 18.

In reality though, this Code imposes a separate age verification requirement for a broader range of entities than the social media ban, as a fallback if the social media ban fails or is rolled back. Hurry, submissions are due on this Friday 5th June!
